Roberto Mancini has publicly denied any personal wrongdoing regarding the 115 financial charges levelled against Manchester City. The former manager, who led the club between 2009 and 2013, said the matter is "not a problem that concerns me" and insisted the club is not guilty.

The Premier League's charges include allegations that the club failed to fully disclose manager remuneration during Mancini's tenure. A source confirmed on Friday that City were expected to be found guilty on the vast majority of the charges, though the Premier League's process remains ongoing and private.

Details of a second contract and a consultancy deal with Abu Dhabi club Al Jazira, owned by City's owner Sheikh Mansour, emerged during the investigation. The arrangement is said to have provided Mancini with a substantial sum alongside his basic salary at Manchester City.

Speaking at a news conference in Bursa, the 61-year-old was clear in his stance. "I don't think Manchester City were found guilty, quite the opposite," Mancini said. He added, "Manchester City are not guilty, and on the double contract it isn't my problem, theirs if anything."

While this historical case continues, the current Manchester City team is in imperious form. They sit top of the Premier League with a perfect record of five wins from five games, holding a three-point lead. Their next challenge is a trip to face Liverpool on 11 October, a fixture you can preview on our fixtures page. The squad's focus remains on maintaining that momentum and squad sections.
