Roy Keane has criticised Phil Foden for taunting Manchester United supporters after being sent off in Sunday's derby. The Manchester City forward was dismissed in the 23rd minute for a kick on Bruno Fernandes but his side still secured a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford thanks to Erling Haaland's goal.

Keane, speaking as a pundit, took issue with Foden's conduct after the final whistle. The 26-year-old was seen making a '1-0' gesture with his hands towards home fans while walking to the team bus. "Get on the bus," Keane said, arguing the player should have left the scene quietly after his red card.

The former Manchester United captain also suggested the dismissal itself was harsh. He contended that Bruno Fernandes had been more aggressive in the incident that led to Foden's early exit. Despite playing over an hour with ten men, City held on for a key three points that keeps them second in the Premier League with a perfect record of four wins from four games.

Erling Haaland was the match-winner, scoring his fourth goal of the season in the 60th minute. That strike proved enough to extend City's winning run to five matches in all competitions.

Former England international Jill Scott offered a defence of Foden's actions, stating he was likely reacting to abuse from the crowd. The victory was City's first at Old Trafford this season and a significant result in the title race. Pep Guardiola's side now turn their attention to a home match against Sunderland on Sunday.
